Fall is here: By Chris Chase

Fall is here: By Chris Chase

Since it is fall, a few things come to mind. People are back in school, football has started and brewers are coming out with their fall assortment of beers. I am a huge fan of pumpkin ales. So much so, that the first one that I found was Sam Adams Harvest Pumpkin Ale. I wasn’t aware that they even had a pumpkin beer out, which is why I had to try this one.

Upon opening the beer, you get hit with the spices of the ale, which reminds you of fall right away.  It pours well, not much head on the glass and has an orange amber color.  It goes down smooth and doesn’t have too bad of an after taste.  It taste a bit like, well pumpkin. Obviously.  It isn’t overwhelming but it’s there.

It doesn’t have a big ABV coming in at 5.7%. I wouldn’t drink too many in a row, the taste gets a little dry after about two. I haven’t seen this beer on tap anywhere, so I bought my six-pack at the store. It wasn’t too bad in price, what you’d expect for a limited beer put out from Samuel Adams and Co.  Over all I guess I would buy it again but wouldn’t rush to do so.
